Charlene Hobbs

I have many passions in the creative world. In grammar school I loved art and did projects to be displayed for PTA. In high school art class, I created a graphite image of a family of Native American Indians. My first ribbon. 3rd place.

I currently attend classes at Mt San Antonio College. I love to broaden my vision of many media forms and express myself through art and nature. I am also in a Small business class in which I was motivated to seek out the Arts of Poetry magazine and move forward with submissions of my work. I have been published twice with my art and my poetry.

I have entered the PVAA Juried Show and won Honorable Mention for my Purple Irises. I was so excited. This motivated me to continue my passion for art. So, I became a member of the Pomona Valley Art Association, PVAA. My display shows my many passions. Photography, Graphite, Charcoal, Watercolor, Watercolor Pencil, Color Pencil, Ceramics, and Pointillism images.

Many years my photography was my creative side. I have attended various college night courses with a dark room. I really enjoyed developing and printing my own work. I have entered my photography in shows that were affiliated with the college at the time of my student status.

I have entered a photo into the Diamond Bar Adult Nature Division ‘Through My Lens Photo Contest.’ And I Won! In 2019 at the Diamond Bar City Council meeting, I received 4 awards. Diamond Bar City Council award, State of California Senate Recognition award, California Legislature Assembly Recognition award, and the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors award. I was honored.

Thank You,
